Ordered 3 blue tooth headsets. 2 fine, 1 DOA. Would not charge or power up. Easy to trouble shoot, since I had 2 others of the same model. Called up Ecost for exchange (wanted same model). Ecost customer rep insisted that I call manufacturer to trouble shoot DOA device. I replied that was not interested in calling the manufacturer and trouble shooting, since it was clearly DOA. She then informed me that I would have to also pay shipping back to Ecost and 20% restocking fee. Buyer beware! Seems if you purchase anything from Ecost that is defective, plan on the run around. NOT RECOMMENDED. The term "REFURBUSHED item" does NOT apply to this store. It should be specified "AS IS" since it was my case when i got a Samsung L100 dig. camera. Remember, "ALL SALES ARE FINAL". I have bought a few refurbished electronics products in the past with very minor dislikes, but in this cases with ecost.com, it was expected to be received in a plain package, but you can clearly see the amount of scratches and bumps in the camera body, no instruction manual (this is not a basic item?) and no memory card included (quite frankly, I got so upset that i even haven't test the camera, so who knows...). When i called to complain, Cust. Serv. they talked to me like reading a "tele prompter" saying "I was lucky if i received with some of the included cables". I could get less frustration if i bought it "AS IS" on ebay or craightlist Overall Rating

First, the good news. Linda Potter in customer service was finally able to resolve the main issue, and not give me the standard "if you read the fine print" answer. Thank you, Linda. I purchased one of the reconditioned Samsung HD monitors that had the countdown running in the final minutes. In addition, I also purchased the Platinum Premium Membership for an additional $39.95. The monitor arrived and was missing the power cord and owners manual. I borrowed a poweer cord from another monitor so that I could verify the new monitor worked. I called customer service at e-cost and was told that there is no guarantee that "extras" will be packaged with the purchase, and that I should contact Samsung. Several days later, I went to access my new Platinum Premium membership and found they had no record of it. Long story short, that purchase was made August 5, and was finally refunded October 13. Buyer Beware! Terrible Customer Service.

I will never purchase from this company again. I confirmed twice with them that they had product in stock and could ship 2nd day, only to find out it was truly on backorder. Than they pre charge my credit card before they even ship out product, and will not give you their extension of who you are speaking with. BUYER BEWARE, I am a buyer for a major technology company and will warn everyone about this place!

Ordered Canon G10 Refurb while item status was "in stock". They charged my cc immediately and sent order confirmation that item is on the back order. Called back and canceled the order right away. I don't appreciate the merchants that provide misleading information and charge cc before item has been shipped.

After ordering a couple of harddrives and receiving the wrong items at the wrong shipping, Tried to work with and give eCost.com enough time to resolve issues. They do a good job of advertising but don't believe the hype! It took several weeks to get an RMA, and now after I've returned the drives, I get the run around on a refund. I have lost what little faith I had in this company. Stay away, unless you want to go through the same thing. If I ever receive a refund I'll update this review. Don't be tempted, there are lot better places to buy, with comparable prices and a lot better customer service, seek them out and save yourself the headache.

I bought a typewriter from eCost.com and it caught on fire in my living room after 6 weeks. I returned it to eCost.com, they acknowledged the return, and they have not refunded my money. Now they don't even answer the phone. Are they still in business?

I bought a Samsung SyncMaster 2433BW monitor that was advertised as "Samsung Refurbished/Recertified." It arrived in a Samsung box for a different monitor in generic protective packaging. There was no user manual, manufacturer warranty or contact information, or driver software in the box. The finish was scratched and marred everywhere. It is obvious that this monitor has not seen the inside of a Samsung building since it was manufactured. This was not an "unfortunate error" -- it was willfully deceptive and almost certainly legally actionable under my state's deceptive trade practices act. I have been buying computer-related goods on the internet for years and years and never seen anything as fraudulent as this. AVOID THIS eCOMPANY AT ANY eCOST OR YOU WILL BE eRIPPED OFF!

If you order from this place, then you need your head examined. I ordered a bluetooth mouse and bluetooth adapter on 7/18/09. I received the mouse on 7/22/09, but not the adapter. I called e-cost and they informed me that the adapter was backordered so they canceled it. I convinced them to send me a different adapter at over twice the price. I received the order confirmation e-mail on 7/22/09 for the replacement adapter. Today, 7/29/09, I called and talked to Ryan in “customer service” and they didn't have the adapter in stock at this warehouse so it was canceled. I asked to return the mouse, and Ryan says "we only accept returns if the item doesn't work". Let's see, how does the mouse work if there is no adapter. Ryan says, "I can order you a different adapter, or get the same adapter from another warehouse, but the price will be higher." Their sales tactics are deceptive and fraudulent. Even if an item is not in stock, their website shows that it is in stock.

The Worst!They sold me a defective LCD TV and to this date (6/15/09) I have not been able to get it replaced. They want me to first purchase another one and then they will help me process a return for the defective TV. Otherwise, my only option is to call the manufaturer directly (Westinghouse) who never answers the phone or e-mails, so I am stuck with a TV that doesn't work and Ecost won't do anything to help. At this moment I am waiting for someone in customer service for 36 minutes and 28 seconds..........

I placed an order with eCost online. The product was shown as in stock. Within minutes a friendly person called me to confirm the order and assure that the order would arrive within a few days at my door step. Almost two weeks later and no order. So, I checked the order status. It said 'back ordered.' However, the web site still said that the item was in stock. I e-mailed eCost customer service. Instead of a response, an order cancellation e-mail arrived. The only explanation for the cancellation was 'at customer request.' So, I e-mailed them back that I never asked to cancel the order. I asked for an explanation of the 'in stock' status on the web site and my order status as 'back ordered.' eCost only returned terse one sentence e-mails that were neither friendly, informative, or even suggested that they understood my question. The item on their web site still says proudly 'in stock', yet customer service will refuse the order, because it is out of stock.

To whom ever buys from this retailer, They are a Joke , they use the bait and switch method of sales. Back on 05/15/2009 I placed and order in good faith for a 32GB Throttle eSATA Flash Drive, At a cost of $19.99 plus $9.99 shipping. A few days latter I received a call and was told I was on back order and asked if I wanted to cancel. My reply was NO, just fulfill the order when you had stock. Now, 06/01/2009 when I check their web site, they have stock, but when I call them they said It was canceled, But they would sell it to at a much Higher cost ($99.00) Please stay away from this company, they are a complete joke and clearly use the bait and switch method of sales! I will inform as many People as I can of there !!!!!

BUYER BEWARE! I purchased a recertified Dyson DC17 Cyclone Upright Vacuum Cleaner through Ecost. I realized the vacuum was missing parts when I unpacked the box-there was not the Mini-Turbine head included, even though this feature is prominitently featured in both the ad pictures and the description. The Mini-Turbine head is the second picture and the first listed feature in the column of this vacuum's features. In small print at the bottom of that column it states that "*Item is recertified and does not include accessories" but never itemizes what is actually included. I have called Ecost several times hoping to resolve this issue and have them provide me with a Mini-Turbine Head, which was one of the main reasons I was purchasing this vacuum. They have denied my request, stating that this is consider an accesory. Items that are not included should clearly be stated in their description-VERY MISLEADING!

Avoid this store at all cost! They will not return your money back if you wish you return an item you bought there! I recently bought a kodak Zi6 camcorder from them which arrived with visible scratches on it and when I called the same day I received it to find out how I may return it, they told me they DO NOT refund you money back! Sometimes the cheap price will cost you more. Avoid Ecost at all cost!

DON'T keep this type of company in business. Buying from them is like gambling. If your order has no issues - you win! But if you have any issue (mine was broken product on delivery) - you will LOSE LOSE LOSE. They make it a job to return anything - they gave me a fax number to call logitech - make you deal with manufacturer for eCost delivering you a broken product. Unacceptable.

This company is the absolute worst of Internet Retailers. They charged me for some "Platinum Club" service that I never ordered nor authorized. I emailed to get a refund and they refused stating that "We have reviewed your order and it shows that initial Members are not refundable" - I'm not even sure what that means - when I asked for clarification, they ignored my request. I then called and also got nowhere. I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO BUY FROM A MORE REPUTABLE SELLER: NewEgg, Amazon, Buy.com, etc... there are MANY better options - I should have come here first, but I assumed eCost was legit. Clearly, they spend money on their Web site and infrastructure. Why on earth don't they just behave like a legitimate reseller??? ALL OF THE REVIEWS HERE DO NOT LIE - THE NUMBERS TELL THE TRUTH - SHOP ELSEWHERE!!!!

I ordered a Samsung T240HD 24" 1080p LCD HDTV which was shipped by eCost to me on their Web Order # E8577007. When received, the only contents was the monitor itself. No other accessories. Surprise! Missing were User Manual VGA Cable DVI Cable Power Cable Audio Cable Support Disk Wireless Remote Control When I contacted Customer Service at eCost, I was told to contact Samsung at 800-726-7864 and Samsung would send to me all of the above accessories at no cost. On calling Samsung, Samsung said that they do not provide any accessories for refurbished monitors. I strongly believe that eCost has not been straightforward and been fraudulent to get and keep the sale. They can not be reached as I am kept on perpetual hold (1 hour, then I quit). I am stopping payment to this fraudulent company and they can send a call tag to get their monitor returned to them. Meanwhile I am complaining and initiating a law-suit against eCost. BUYER BEWARE! Their Web site is inconsistent and misleading. I was referred to the product page from a price shopping site. It said nothing about the unit being 'Factory Recertified'. Entering the site from their main page, the 'Factory Recertified' message is there. This is fraudulent - if you get to the product page from a referring web site, you are given the impression you are buying factory new merchandise, when in fact you are not!!

(Edited March 31st by sandrat888)  this company is a total scam. has no ethics and does not care about customer service. They will hit you with that 15% restocking fee even if you never received the order. Avoid this merchant at all cost. I ordered the HP Pavilion desktop from eCost for $619.99 (Shipping is $31.78) on Jan 16, 2009 and called them on Jan 20th, 2009 to cancel the order. The item has already shipped the same day, Jan 20th. I refused delivery of the package and it was taken directly back to the merchant by the carrier. I disputed the charge later with my credit card company and got a refund of $527.77, which means eCost hit me with a ridiculous $124 for restocking fee of something that I never even touch. (Edited March 28th by prachamalla)  If you are planning to buy anything from ecost.com, please think twice and buy. The customer satisfaction from this company is zero for me till date. I bought twice from this website and both times i had problems with the product and both times response was useless. Better to buy from any other electronic supplier. ecost was the first one till date for me to show that they really do not care for the customer. For returning, this is the worst vendor and they have thousand excuses not to take the return of the item.
