(Edited December 21st by mohantv)  BAD EXPERIENCE - DO NOT BUY AT RITZ CAMERA WARNING: Ritz Camera lies about "IN STOCK" items and so does their customer service. They charge your credit card upfront before the item actually ships by sending a message to google checkout that the item was shipped. I ordered a Canon digital camera case that was (and may still be) shown on their website as "IN STOCK" and "Ships within 24 hours". When I did not receive the item, I called Ritz Camera on two different occasions asking about it and every time I was told it is being processed and would be shipped at any time. Finally, after calling Ritz Camera for the third time, I am told that my item was back ordered, then I immediately canceled my order, but they charged my card through google checkout by sending false message to google checkout. They will tell different answer for every call even if you call after 10mins. Please save yourself from a big headache and go elsewhere for your purchase. {{{{{ AVOID RITZ CAMERA }}}}} Overall Rating

I ordered the Nikon D-200 package with the 18-200 VR lens. It was listed at $2149 everything included. It took forever to complete the order because the customer service representative's English was poor and we had trouble communicating. That should have been a red flag right there but I persevered because the price was good. It also gave me time to read merchant reviews which for Ritz Camera were not good. I should have cancelled right then and there but I felt committed and hoped my experience with Ritz would be a good one. Well, when I checked my confirmation e-mail later in the day the package price was listed at 2836.45. I called immediately and cancelled my order. I don't have the time or stomach to deal with incompetents. At this point I can only hope my cancellation goes through without glitches. Overall Rating

Part of the representation of this offer was a rebate. To date, they don't acknowledge this rebate. (1) Don't do business with them; (2) make sure that rebate documentation is in place (as mine is); (3) take issue with consumer fraud up to the FTC - don't let them get away with it. Overall Rating

I was hesitant after reading all the negative reviews but still took a chance since Ritz had the lowest price on a D50 ($430) plus they obviously ain't no fly-by-night operation and they also shipped to Honolulu for FREE. I received the D50 in a reasonable amount of time (8 business days during the Christmas season). Overall Rating

The trouble that I had with Ritz is very similar to what others are saying here. I ordered an LCD TV from Ritz (via Amazon) that was listed as "In Stock". After I made my order, I was told that this item was backordered and would be sent directly from the manufacturer. I tried to cancel twice but Ritz never responded to my emails. I complained to Amazon several times, but they were not effective. I called Ritz and did get someone who said that they would cancel the order (this was about 5 weeks after I made the order), and what do know, I get the TV the next day. Ritz is really messed up. Stay away from this vendor. Overall Rating

Ritz Camera customer representatives are a bunch of lairs! My experience dealing with them has been very irritating. I called them 4 times (almost every two days) in the past week regarding my missing gift certificate orders (since 11/22), and each time they promised me sending the GCs via email within 24 to 48 hours. But I've still got nothing by now! Finally I called in today and asked for cancellation. The lady answered my call shamelessly lied to me that they just sent out the GCs! Anyway, I insisted to cancel all orders and she said she would do. However, I'll watch closely my credit card account in the next few days coz I suspect she was lying to me again. Overall Rating

DO NOT SHOP AT RITZ!!! I ordered the Creative Zen Nano 512mb on Dec 6 - it was (and still is) listed as "In Stock - Usually ships witin 24 hours". I didn't hear back so on Dec. 11 I called and they could provide no information on when it would ship, except that it was being shipped directly from their distribution center. I got an email saying that "it would ship as soon as it is received from the manufacturer" (ie back-ordered). Today I got an email regretting to inform me that it "might be delayed". I called to cancel yesterday but they still haven't received the cancelation. I will never shop at Ritz Camera again - and the next time I'm at the mall I'll tell the retail store I'm not shopping there either. If they lose enough business maybe they'll get rid of whoever runs their online site. Overall Rating

I wish I would have found these reviews before ordering from Ritz. I ordered a Digital Picture fram on Nov 27th and it still hasn't shipped (today is Dec 11th). The product page that I originally ordered from said that the product would ship in 24 hrs. I called customer service and they gave me thier canned "I apologize for your inconvenience" response, but could not (or would not) help me in any way. They basically said that the product is being shipped from a distribution warehouse and once the order is placed there they cannot change it. Are they sending orders by Pony Express? How is it possible, with all of our technology, that they can't tell when it will ship, or upgrade the shipping to overnight? Bottom line: Please do yourself a favor and find the product elsewhere. It just isn't worth the hassle. Overall Rating

BEWARE!!! I was scammed!!! I ordered a sony 405 camcorder.The advertised price on the website was $699 w/instant sony rebate of $100. During ck-out, the price did not reflect the rebate, so I called to speak to a rep. They told me to complete my transaction, and it would show at the end! It didn't! What a fool am I!!! I called to cancel 5 or less minutes later, and of course, they already processed my transaction. But they refused to e-mail a cancellation of my order. Now I'm not sure when my account will be credited. I'm totally upset with dealing with them. Don't allow yourself to be fooled by their lower prices-- it's a scam!!!!!!!!!!! Overall Rating

Hi Friends/Ritzcamera Customers, It is one of the Un reliable and untrusted site, I had very very bad experience with this site. I have placed 2 orders for Nikon Camera through Google Checkout and they have deducted money for one order, google checkout says its been shipped. When I call Ritzcamera customer support they say the order has been discontinued and need 7-10 business days to credit the money. The sad part is a friend of myn whom I told the offer has placed an order after 5 hours got the order. Customer Service is very very.... poor don't answer properly, if they receive the call and if they don't like they disconnect. Now I am waiting for my money. Don't know whether they give money or not... Make a wise decision and find an alternate item if you instead of ordering in Ritzcamera.com Overall Rating

While I did not have a problem in speaking with customer service or in the time frame that I received the camera, I was very dissatisfied with the way it was packaged. There was one flimsy piece of tape, and you could hear the product rattling around in the box. I will not know if the product was damaged until Christmas, as it is a gift and will not be opened until then. Doubtful I would do business again. I will update this review if necessary. If your product involves a rebate (or google checkout offer) then you are probably going to find that the product is "discontinued" this is after they charge your credit card of course! DO NOT PURCHASE FROM RITZ CAMERA. All you will get is wasted time and a charge on your credit card that you have to fight to get back. I didnt listen to the other reviews and now im paying for it! There is a reason why they have 1.5 stars and you are likely to have the same experience. I was purchasing a gift and now I have to pay way more to get it in time from a reputable seller... I write 0 business days in the received product time because i ordered one camera 4 business days ago and pay 2 business express shipping fee, now 4 business days ellaps the camera is still in their warehouse. it took me three hours to complete the order through online chat. it took me another 3 hours to callthem and do price match. the manager and representatives kept pushing me to each other, at last they only did 10% price much, that is, they sold me item $140 more expensive than buydig, but they only return me $30. their representatives are indian people, whose english is quite hard to understand Overall Rating

watch out for the 3rd party orders during checkout. why waste my time with these magazine and rip off offers right before final conformation. the web offers are very decepitive and exteremly hard to navigate, esp when trying to finish order avoid the hassle, and go to other reputable sites. WARNING: DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM RITZ CAMERA! RitzCamera lies about "IN STOCK" items & so does their customer service. They charge credit cards upfront before the item actually ships. I ordered a motherboard that was shown on their website as "IN STOCK" and "ships within 24 hours." I called their customer service to verify the website's "IN STOCK" status & they told me the item was definitely "IN STOCK." When I did not receive the motherboard, I called Ritz Camera 3 different times & every time I was told it is being processed & would be shipped soon. I even received status emails from Ritz Camera stating that "...they are sorry my item has not shipped. It will ship soon." Ritz Camera kept stringing me along. Finally, I made a 4th call to Ritz Camera customer service & this time I am told that my item has been cancelled because it has been discontinued. I ordered a Nikon D70s with 18-70mm lens and a 2 GB Lexar memory card from Ritz. The package arrived before it was promised and they also dropped the price in response to a price comparison from another supplier. I used Ritz over another, somewhat lower-priced competitor because they are better-known and reputable. Ordered Nikon D80 and 18-55 lens. Website indicated ships within 24 hours. After placing order I received an email stating that camera + lens was "In stock and reserved". I decided to call anyways and was told that item would be shipped the next day. Called the next day and was told that item was out of stock for 2 weeks. Ritz was unable to offer an explanation why email and phone call both confirmed that item was in-stock and would ship. I later canceled order and purchase camera from a local store. Overall Rating

These people have NO idea how to go about ecommerce. They do not supply any tracking numbers. The customer service is definately not in the US. Their agents know little if anything about your order and promise to fix problems and are powerless or inept at doing so. I ordered 2 studio strobe lights one came damaged. It was returned to them with a Return Authorization #. No response. Called service they said they would ship a new one. NOthing recieved. Long story short I now have 3 units and am waiting for a resolution. STAY AWAY AND GO TO OTHER VENDORS EVEN IF SLGHTLY MORE EXPENSIVE Overall Rating
